We all know that beautiful skin is a well moisturized skin. OK, but when? How? Why?

I’m a little confused between dry skin and dehydrated skin. What's the difference?

It's easy. Dry skin is a type of skin, which you will have for the rest of your life, and dehydrated skin is a condition your skin is in at a given time. Whether you have naturally dry, combination, normal or oily skin, external factors like cold, wind, and sun can dry it out.

My skin is naturally oily. Do I really need to moisturize it?

Yes! Oily skin must be hydrated. When you wash your face to get rid of the oils, it usually weakens the hydrolipidic film and your skin loses its ability to retain water, which causes discomfort and tightness.

Why do you have to moisturize before putting on makeup?

Moisturized skin means a radiant complexion and no more redness or tightness – plus it's the best base layer for setting your makeup, from foundation to eye shadow.

Your skin will actually be more hydrated if you drink more water.

Drinking 1.5 liters (6 glasses) of water a day will hydrate your skin from the inside. Water helps repair cells and make your skin supple, radiant, and firm. Our bodies are made of 60% water and cells are saturated with it, so we need it to live.

I love exfoliating and I do it regularly. But can’t it dry out my skin?

Yes, which is why you shouldn’t overdo it and choose a gentle scrub for your face. The Konjac Sponge is a good alternative to if you want to cleanse your skin, even sensitive skin, without irritating it. Exfoliating rids skin of dead cells and destructures the hydrolipidic film. Over time, it breaks down the cutaneous barrier to the point where it is less effective at regulating and that leads to water loss..

When is the best time to moisturize my skin. Morning or night?

Morning AND night. It is after the shower or bath, when the outer layer of the skin has softened, that the skin can easily absorb the moisturizing products and the ingredients are most effective.

Does skin need more moisture the more you moisturize it?

No, your skin doesn't get used to hydration, just to the comfortable feeling of being moisturized. Once you get used to moisturizing your skin, it’s hard to do without the suppleness and softness that skincare products provide.

Several associations organize collections for those who really need them, donating is a lovely way of freeing yourself from "undesirable" gifts! All year round, but especially during the holidays, those in need appreciate our donations more than we know. So, if you received any gifts this holiday season that you know will simply sit on the shelf or in a drawer for the next year, consider bringing it to a donation center. You'll feel good about your action, and you'll make someone in need happier than you know. After all, the holidays are about spreading joy and cheer.

Eat (good) fat

This is all about essential fatty acids: omega-3 fats that increase the skin's elasticity and omega-6 fats that help hydrate the skin!
Olive oil and fish that's high in fat like salmon, sardines, mackerel, and herring are great sources of omega-3 and omega-6. Your skin will reap the rewards when you enjoy a dish full of these foods!

Ever since she was little, she’s been hearing that food shouldn’t be wasted but that only took on its full meaning when she went to pick up her child at school one day and noticed the amount of snacks that were thrown away.

She then started researching the subject and realized the huge amount of food wastage due to standards imposed by large-scale distribution to only sell calibrated fruits and vegetables corresponding to consumers’ beauty requirements. On the other hand, she was aware of the difficulties some people had to meet their dietary needs, she decided to take action.

She created Espigoladors, a social company that provides a link between producers and families in difficulty. The goal? To reduce food wastage by allowing families suffering from social exclusion to have access to fresh food. Food that doesn’t fit into the beauty standards of the market but is still as nutritious. And she doesn’t stop there since she wants to recreate the link between human beings and nature to share with as many people as possible a rich and diverse nature. This nature that has a lot more beautiful faces than the pretty fruits and vegetables found in our supermarkets.

Flower Power Squats

Looking to tone up your body? Then choose to do green power squats! You have a pretty flower pot at home? Perfect! Adding weight makes your workout even more effective.

Squatting is an essential exercise for a beautiful rounded bottom and muscular thighs. But, be careful, the position is very important to protect your lumbar regions and knees. Put your weight on your heels and keep your knees aligned with your ankles. Make sure you don’t bend your knees inwards. Keep your back slightly arched, your shoulders low and your chest open.

Do 2 sets of 30 squats.

Objective: slimmer waist

Sculpting your abs with this movement inspired by a famous yoga pose called the "boat". The goal: a smaller waist and rock hard abs!

Let your green power shine through and grab one of your most beautiful flower pots to work out in a way that’s effective and fun!

Be careful! Your chest must stay straight. When you shift your weight backwards, don’t arch your back. Keep your shoulders low, squeeze your shoulder blades and keep contracting your abs to protect your lumbar regions!

Do 3 sets of 5.

Quick tip: Look at your navel during the entire length of the exercise to avoid hurting the back of your neck!

Balance is the key!

 

To tone up your butt and thighs, nothing beats a balance exercise! To make it a bit harder, take your nicest plant, put it on top of your head (oh yes, otherwise it’d be too easy)

 

Tip: To keep your balance, contract your abs and butt. Push your foot against your thigh and that’s all there is to it! Take care not to put your foot on your knee 😉
